Although we call this type of scarf, hijab, as I learned hijab means covering and khimar refers to the specific type of covering, the head scarf. I use hijab since I see most sisters on the internet are comfortable with this term.
These are our most popular solid colored hijabs which we started selling in the 1980's in the basic colors. At times we sell the 44" square (112cm x 112cm) georgette hijab in 30 to 40 colors.
Each georgette hijab is a 44" square(112cm x 112cm) with all serged edges, not like other hijabs that just have two sewn edges.
Georgette, which is 100% polyester is a fabric that can be worn year round, is easy to care for and comes in many colors which makes it able to match any outfit and it is soft and supple allowing for a nice flow.
This hijab can be worn many different ways. I have seen it worn simply with the end covering the front of the chest and a hijab pin at the neck. Also, it can be worn with the ends tied in the front like a sailor's knot.
Sometimes it is tied so as to cover the face, making it both a hijab and niqaab. Finally, it can be worn with the end up and secured with a hat pin or hijab pin on the back of or side of the head.
I am sure there are many other ways it can be worn, our sisters are very creative.
CARE: COLD WATER WASH, NO DRYER, IF IRONING USE LOW HEAT
Note: This hijab covers the chest.
